V medzivojnovom období svetové
komunistické hnutie organizačne zastrešovala III. Internacionála, nazývaná
aj Komunistická internacionála, skrátene Kominterna (1919 – 1943). K jej
moskovskému centru sa zbiehali nitky celosvetovej siete politických i
zdanlivo nepolitických organizácií, pomocou ktorých boľševické elity v
Sovietskom zväze usmerňovali chod komunistického hnutia vo všetkých kútoch
sveta, nevynímajúc Slovensko. Boľševická propaganda všade, kde pôsobila,
maľovala najširším ľudovým vrstvám činnosť i ciele komunistického hnutia v
žiarivých farbách humanizmu a solidarity. Za starostlivo pestovanou
propagandistickou maskou sa však skrývala omnoho menej príťažlivá tvár
hnutia. Odhaliť ju zraku svetovej verejnosti najvýraznejšie napomohli
svedectvá tých najzasvätenejších spomedzi komunistických elít. Renegáti z
najvyšších kruhov komunistického hnutia vynášali na svetlo sveta šokujúce
informácie, ktoré dokázali reputáciou Kominterny i sovietskej vlády poriadne
otriasť.

In the inter-war period, the world
communist movement was organized in the Third International, also called the
Communist International or for short the Komintern (1919 – 1943). The
threads of a whole series of political and apparently non-political
organizations were gathered to its Moscow centre, and with its help the
Bolshevik elite of the Soviet Union directed the running of the communist
movement in all parts of the world, including Slovakia. Bolshevik propaganda
everywhere presented the aims of the communist movement to the widest range
of people in glowing colours of humanism and solidarity. However, a much
less attractive face of the movement was hidden behind the carefully
cultivated propagandist mask. The testimony of some of the most initiated
members of the communist elite most significantly helped to unveil it to the
sight of the world public. Renegades from the highest circles of the
communist movement brought to light shocking information, which really shook
the reputation of the Komintern and of the Soviet government.
